2/14/2026 UPDATE - I have received my refund check. ORIGINAL REVIEW - Drove from Sacramento to SF twice, deposited $200 in Sept 2025, spent 6 hrs in driving, 4 hours in giving measurements and waiting between the 2 trips.... Never heard back from Al/Rene/anyone without calling them 5 times. After waiting for months, I happened to stop by and my boots were ready I found but no-one informed me. GUESS WHAT? they made the wrong design, super tight fit and said they'll fix it. Had to give all measurements and pictures again.... After a few more months NO REPONSE. Called to find out they are having issues, their excuse is "they're a small business" but they NEVER call back to update you (NOT once)....After making 20 calls and finally requesting my refund and Al (the owner) agreeing to it in Jan 2026, still waiting my refund in Feb of 2026, called them 5x, emailed them 2x all they needed to mail a check, still no progress and no initiation of response from their end after leaving several messages for Al..... I hope this review catches Al's attention, I hesitated and waited so long to write one but finally I've lost my patience....My impression - not just pricey, but old-school, incompetent, chaotic systems, not organized, needs a new owner. I will update the review if I receive my check.

Many years ago, I got a suit here and now I see they’re still going strong and the place looks great. There’s a dog here so that’s entertaining and they have really great thick denim shirts.

Al’s is great even to just visit. But I’ve been shopping there for many years, and at this point I’ve got more than half a dozen custom made pairs of shoes, jeans, a leather jacket… all of it impeccably high quality. Some of my shoes are on their second or third set of soles and I still regularly get compliments.

I went in on a Friday night with a boot/ heel emergency. Rene fixed me up like the pro he is, and while we waited we looked around and found some great finds! Like the jean travel shirt! Or the shoes made from a basketball! We even met Al who was fun to chat with and listed to some great music! Drop in and visit the gang at Al’s Attire! (Saved me from my boot disaster!!)

I care about what I wear and I care about where it was made and I care about who made it. I have bought 3 shorts, had two pairs of jeans custom made and now I have possibly the most beautifully made pair of boots I’ve ever owned (and I own many pairs of RM Williams). Come here, leave happy.
